We at Golden Oaks Equine are pleased and excited to present the newest addition to the herd, Troubled Memories...offering
some of the the BEST bloodlines for racing and barrel racing available in the Appaloosa breed!
Troubled Memories was purchased
from Schimke Ranch in the fall of 2013. Troubled previously stood Wilkinson Racing Stables of Prement, TX. With limited foals
on the ground, Troubled Memories has already proven himself to be an outstanding track and barrel racing sire. Trouble has
many younger up and coming foals, and we will be expecting more in the coming years out of some quality proven mares. He has
great conformation, a good disposition, and AAA speed; of which he is passing on to his offspring. |
Troubled Memories best known progeny is Lena May, a 2002 chesnut mare who
was Lena May was a race winner on the track, and went on to win
and place at several barrel racing futurities, derbies, and major PRCA rodeos with Amy Schimke of Schimke Ranch in Wessington
Springs, SD. She was a Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo qualifier, and the WPRA World Champion Derby horse in 2008. She has had
numerous stories and articles written about her in the Barrel Horse News. Lena May was retired in July of 2009 and is raising
foals out at Schimke Ranch in Wessington Springs, SD.
Locally our upcoming mare Cashs Rosie “Sprinkles”
has won money and awards as a 1/2D open horse, and will continue to be hauled. Sprinkles ran AA with a SI of 86 on the track
and was a money earner of $10,268, as well as a race winner. Sprinkles has won approximately $4500 since late August
of 2012 as a barrel horse with limited outs.
Our hope with Troubled Memories is to offer the complete package
of pedigree, conformation, personality, talent and speed with a color bonus. .
